What do you want students to take away from your classes?
I aim to create an engaging and
stimulating environment in my classes where students are consistently
challenged to explore new problems and ideas. I hope they have ample
opportunities to advance their critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Most importantly, I strive to instill a lifelong love of learning, emphasizing
that education should be a continuous journey extending beyond the confines of
a course or degree.
Why did you start teaching?
I started teaching because I
wanted to make a meaningful impact, inspiring the next generation of thinkers
and doers. Teaching also allows me to continuously learn, staying abreast of
the latest trends and ideas in my field. Additionally, the dynamic environment
of a university — rich with diverse perspectives and constant intellectual
stimulation — makes it an incredibly fulfilling place to work.
What is the value of an MBA degree?
An MBA degree prepares learners as
leaders for the future, equipped with advanced knowledge and skills in
strategic thinking and planning, evidence-based management, critical thinking,
and problem solving. In today’s data-driven world, it is crucial that students
learn to use empirical research to gather and analyze data, ensuring that their
managerial decisions are well-supported. The MBA degree advances learners’
ability to explore and explain complex problems and present solutions clearly
and persuasively, utilizing a sustainability lens.
What advice would you give to those considering an MBA at SOU?
