  • What do you want students to take away from your classes? What do you want them to learn?

    I teach to inspire passion around health and wellness. I would like my students to feel empowered to engage in lifestyles and seek resources that help them to live life to its fullest and to teach others to do the same.

  • How long have you been teaching online courses?

    10 years.

  • Why did you start teaching?

    Teaching never felt like a job. I sincerely enjoy it. I am passionate about health promotion.

  • What is the value of a higher degree in the field in which you teach?

    Health and wellness promotion that can and should be contextualized and tailored to the needs of all individuals, families, communities, cities, regions, and countries is critical. The recent pandemic has exposed extreme health disparities in our society. The need for health educators with diverse backgrounds is growing and employment opportunities in a variety of sectors (hospitals, clinics, schools, government, corporate, and fitness) are burgeoning.

  • What advice would you give to those considering your online program?

    Come as you are, be your true self, and be prepared to serve as a health educator/promotion specialist in a variety of professional settings. This program extends your existing knowledge and education in the health and healthcare sectors with specific emphasis and preparation around health education and promotion culminating in a master’s degree in Education with a Concentration in Health Education and Promotion.
