I have been teaching at Southern Oregon University since 2018. Over the past 20 years I’ve been a teacher in a variety of settings, including K-8 schools, childcare settings, yoga studios, dance studios, etc.
My research experience includes conducting qualitative research on a health promotion program using peer-assisted physical activity for depression and anxiety in college students. I presented this research, “The Effects of a Peer-Assisted Physical Activity Program on Depression and Anxiety in College Students” at the Association for Applied Sport Psychology Conference in Portland, Oregon in 2019.
I got my master’s degree while raising my children, so I have first-hand knowledge of how challenging it can be to continue education while balancing a busy life. Because of this experience, I have the understanding and ability to help my adult students successfully navigate their journey through higher education.
